WELCOME!
Thank you so much for taking the time to visit, and to catch up with what we've been up to! It's been another interesting year and we're excited to share it with you!
What a ride!
Matt and Lindsay celebrated 20 years of marriage in September. Looking back on how much God has blessed us in the last 2 decades really can take your breath away. Somehow every year just keeps getting better. We were able to celebrate with a solo trip to Indy in September and then with a family trip to Disney World for Fall Break.
Matt
Matt continues to work hard for our family both as a full time Discipleship Pastor at Logansport Church as well as Morning Host on 102.3 The River. Both jobs have been full of excitement this year. He just celebrated 1 year at Logansport Church where our ministry has continued to grow. This church has been the perfect fit for us and we can’t want to see what God does in the future. On the radio side, Matt was also nominated for a Spectrum Award from the Indiana Broadcast Association. We were treated to a fancy banquet in Indy at Gainbridge Fieldhouse right on the court
Lindsay
Lindsay has spent the last year back in her favorite job as a stay at home mom. Somehow even though both kids are in high school now this job never seems to get easier. She enjoys making sure her family has everything they need to survive this busy season of life and has been so blessed to be able to do this for so many years. She has also spent this last year volunteering in the Kids Ministry area of Logansport Church and is happy to announce that soon she will be starting as the Kids Ministry Director. Kids ministry has been a passion for many years and she is very excited to do what she loves and finally have a job!
Gretchen
Gretchen is already a SENIOR at Logansport High School. She is definitely the reason why we cannot possibly fit all of our news in one Christmas Card. She is in her 13th year of dance at Kristie Wright’s School of Dance. She is the Multimedia Editor for the LHS Magpie. We joke that she has entered her Presidential Era by being the President of Sub Debs (a student run sorority), National Honors Society, and the Mayor’s Youth Advisory Council. She is also a Dance Caption for the LHS Swing Choir, Treasurer of her Senior Class, and a member of Student Council. She just finished her last Winter Fantasy (Spongebob the Musical) with the LHS Drama Club where she played Sardine #1 and was a main dancer. She loved this show because she got to learn a new style of dance (hip hop), have her first solo in a musical, and also share the stage with her little brother.
On top of all this stuff she also had the privilege of attending Hoosier Girls State in June where she spent a week at Trine University. While there she was elected as the Federalist Party State Treasurer, Mayor of Morris City, and the recipient of the Samsung Scholarship (which was a very big honor). She was also a homecoming candidate for the National Honors Society. She was also able to attend a national journalism conference in Boston at the beginning of November. She learned a lot at the conference and was able to do many fun things like visit Harvard, go on a Ghost Tour of many of Boston’s historical places, and even spend the day in an airport in New York.
She has applied to Purdue University where she plans to major in Organizational Leadership in the Fall of 2024! Over the summer she was able to work at ARaymond in the Human Resources Department. She fell in love with the fast pace of the work as well as the company. She would like to either work in Human Resources or possibly run a Non-Profit. She is also gearing up to audition for the Purduettes this spring which is a singing group at Purdue. She has been working hard in voice lessons and looks forward to continuing her passion for performing in college.
Cooper
Cooper has started his Freshman year at Logansport High School and is LOVING high school! He might not have a list quite as long as his sister but he is definitely keeping himself busy. He loves everything music/theater and has been pursuing that in every way possible. Over the summer he starred as Kurt VonTrapp in the Sound of Music. It was an amazing experience for him and it made us all excited for his high school career.
He continues to take voice lessons weekly with Tim Cahalan and has now added another voice lesson with Emily Brooke for more experience as well as piano lessons with Angela Ticen. His hard work continues to pay off. He was selected for the Indiana All State Honor Choir and will be performing with them in Fort Wayne in January (for the 4th year in a row). He also auditioned for the LHS Swing Choir (for 2nd semester) and was SELECTED! This is a huge honor because very few freshmen ever get the chance to join the Swing Choir. He is looking forward to performing with his big sister for her last semester of high school. He also enjoyed performing in his very first Winter Fantasy (Spongebob) where he was Sardine #3, having his first solo in a high school musical as well as dancing (including tap), AND also filling in several other small roles.
In other big news, Cooper has been selected to serve as Felix the Cat at LHS. His first gig was Homecoming and he did an amazing job. It is going to be such a fun experience for him to be such an iconic part of Logansport High School. We think this is a perfect fit for him because it combines his love of performing as well as making kids smile. He has also joined the LHS Speech Team and will start competing with them December 9th. And for 2nd semester he will be joining his sister on the LHS Magpie where he will help host a new news show they are developing.
We pray that your families are happy and healthy and that you all have a wonderful and blessed New Year!
